Why Counseling

At Leap of Faith Recovery Services, our lived experience in recovery allows us to connect with clients through empathy, hope, and understanding. Combined with professional training and evidence-based practices, we're dedicated to helping individuals create lasting change and build lives they can be proud of.

Life can be challenging, and everyone experiences moments when they need additional support. Counseling provides a safe, confidential, and judgment-free space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences while developing healthy strategies for lasting growth. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to improve your overall well-being, therapy can help you build the tools needed to live a healthier, more fulfilling life.

A Personalized Approach to Recovery

There Is No One-Size-Fits-All Recovery Plan

At Leap of Faith Recovery Services, we don't believe counseling should be a checklist. Your experiences, goals, strengths, and challenges are unique.

Your treatment may incorporate several evidence-based approaches depending on what is most appropriate for you. We work collaboratively to identify the strategies that make sense for your recovery and help you develop skills that can be carried beyond the counseling session.

Our goal isn't simply to help you stop using substances.

Our goal is to help you build a life you don't want to escape from.

Our Evidence-Based Approaches

There Is No One-Size-Fits-All Recovery Plan

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Building motivation for meaningful change.

Change can be difficult, especially when part of you wants recovery while another part feels uncertain. Motivational Interviewing helps clients explore their own reasons for change, strengthen motivation, resolve ambivalence, and identify personal goals without judgment or pressure.

We use MI to help clients:

  • Explore readiness for change

  • Identify personal reasons for recovery

  • Strengthen commitment to goals

  • Work through ambivalence

  • Build confidence in their ability to change

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Changing the patterns that can keep recovery stuck.

CBT helps clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying unhealthy thinking patterns and developing healthier responses, clients can learn to manage difficult emotions and make choices that support recovery.

CBT can help with:

  • Negative thinking

  • Cravings and triggers

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Impulsive behaviors

  • Stress management

  • Problem-solving

  • Relapse prevention

Relapse Prevention

Preparing for challenges before they become setbacks.

Relapse prevention focuses on identifying situations, emotions, people, and behaviors that may increase the risk of returning to substance use. Clients develop an individualized plan for recognizing warning signs and responding to triggers with healthier strategies.

Together, we work on:

  • Identifying triggers

  • Recognizing warning signs

  • Managing cravings

  • Developing coping strategies

  • Creating an emergency recovery plan

  • Strengthening sober support

  • Establishing healthy routines
